Cornelis J. M. ‘Kees’ Melief, M.D., Ph.D., received the 2019 AACR-CRI Lloyd J. Old Award in Cancer Immunology presented by the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and Cancer Research Institute (CRI) during the 2019 AACR Annual Meeting.
Dr. Melief, a member of the CRI Scientific Advisory Council and CLIP Grant Review Committee, is being honored for his work on the development of effective immunotherapies for virus-induced tumors, including a novel vaccine strategy that uses synthetic long peptides (SLP) to target cancers associated with infection by the human papilloma virus (HPV).
